🧪 Chalice Coral Care

Don’t let their fancy looks fool you—Chalices are fairly hardy and great for beginner to intermediate reefers.

• Temperature: 75–80°F

• Salinity: 1.024–1.026

• Lighting: Low to moderate (avoid direct, intense light)

• Flow: Gentle to moderate

• Placement: Start low in the tank and give them space from other corals—they have sweeper tentacles!

Stable water conditions and slow acclimation help them thrive.

🍽️ Feeding & Behavior

Chalices are photosynthetic but appreciate target feeding 1–2 times a week. Try reef roids, coral pellets, or chopped mysis to promote color and growth.

They’re semi-aggressive, especially at night—so leave some buffer room around them.

⚠️ Signs of Stress

• Faded colors → too much light or nutrient imbalance

• Receding tissue → pests or poor water quality

• Closed polyps or slime → irritation or stress

Adjust lighting, flow, or placement, and they usually bounce back.
