Meat Corals

Meat corals, like Acanthophyllia and Cynarina, are some of the most dramatic-looking LPS corals you can add to a reef. They puff up like a balloon and shimmer in all kinds of colors, making them a real showstopper. These corals love a calm spot on the sandbed and don’t appreciate strong flow. They’re usually pretty laid-back, but they do need space to stretch out and won’t tolerate being bumped around. Feeding them a couple of times a week with reef-safe frozen foods helps them stay plump and colorful. They’re a favorite among collectors for good reason—they look amazing and don’t demand too much.
