Chocolate Chip Sea Star
Chocolate Chip Sea Star / Starfish (Protoreaster nodosus)
NOT REEF SAFE but good for feeding HARLEQUINN SHRIMP
The Chocolate Chip Sea Star brings distinctive appeal to specialized marine aquariums. Recognizable by its bumpy, chocolate-colored body dotted with lighter nodules, this starfish creates visual interest on the tank floor. While not suitable for reef environments, it serves an important role in systems housing Harlequin Shrimp, which feed on these starfish naturally. Hardy and relatively low-maintenance, it grazes on detritus and organic matter, contributing to tank cleanup. Best suited for experienced aquarists with appropriate tank setups and compatible inhabitants.
